The Feather Headdress, or Juju Hat (or also Tyn Hat) was traditionally worn by royalty, village chiefs or prominent members of society during ceremonial affairs in the Cameroon region of Africa. Feathers are considered rare objects of beauty and a symbol of prosperity and wealth. The headdress is made of natural or dyed chicken feathers (or sometimes a wild bird) stitched onto woven raffia which can be unfolded into a circular shape for hanging.
